Materials & Chests in Lift a Cube

Materials are the multiplier layer of Lift a Cube: arms set how fast you push up, materials set how much each push-up is worth. Chests along the map sell rolls, and their prices climb from ≈1.3K at spawn to ≈15M in the late map.

How a roll works

Pay the chest's price, receive a material, and it equips onto your arms as a multiplier on every push-up. Rolling again replaces the equipped material — so a bad roll can be a downgrade in expectation if you were on a decent one.

Rarity tiers

Common (entry multipliers like Sand at ≈1.5×), Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary sit on a C → S scale. The developer has not published exact rates or multipliers; higher rarities are visibly rarer at every chest.

Chest prices escalate by zone

Observed roll prices: ≈1.3K and ≈7.6K in the starting area, ≈50K on the outward path, ≈300K–≈500K mid-map, ≈15M in the late map. Higher price = better odds and a higher rarity ceiling.

Luck changes the odds, not the ceiling

Cash-bought luck upgrades (≈8×, 10×, 20× observed) tilt roll odds toward higher rarities. Because luck applies to all future rolls at that chest, it usually beats buying individual rolls once you plan to stay at a chest for a while.

When re-rolling pays for itself

Rough check: a multiplier that improves your training speed by 50% pays back its roll price in the time it would have taken you to reach the next strength gate without it. If the payback is longer than your walk to the next zone's chest, walk instead.
