Lift a Cube Beginner Guide (First Hour)

Lift a Cube drops you next to a training station and one very heavy cube. The first hour decides how fast the rest of the map goes, so spend every early Cash on the upgrades that compound. Here is the exact route we used to reach the Copper Cube in one sitting.

1. Train before you lift

Push-ups are your only strength source. Hold the training input at any station and your character does reps: one push-up grants base strength × your material multiplier, and each rep takes as long as your arms' push-up time.

Watch for boost bubbles that spawn on the floor while you train — stepping on one multiplies that rep (x3 and higher tiers exist). Train on top of them; free multipliers beat everything else early.

2. Lift the Wood Cube, then the Stone Cube

The Wood Cube pays about 25 Cash on your first lift and around 50 on repeats. That is enough for your first push-up time upgrade — buy it immediately, because a faster rep rate multiplies everything you do afterwards.

The Stone Cube sits a short walk out with a recommended strength around 225. If the lift minigame bar feels impossible, you are under-strength: go train more rather than re-trying.

3. Buy arms before materials

Cash goes further on arms and push-up time early on. Arms set your push-up speed permanently; a Common material roll is a temporary multiplier you will replace anyway.

A good early pattern: push-up time upgrade → next arms tier → then your first chest roll once a roll costs less than the next arm upgrade.

4. Start rolling materials at the second chest

Chests charge Cash per roll and the price escalates fast (≈1.3K → ≈7.6K → ≈50K and up as you walk out). Rolling a better material multiplies every future push-up, so it compounds — but early rolls are cheap to outgrow.

Rule of thumb: if the next zone's chest is within reach, save the roll Cash for it instead of re-rolling the starter chest.

5. Join the group and like the game

Joining the Freaky Strong! group and liking the game both grant in-game perks. They cost nothing and apply from minute one — the group passed one million members in September 2026, so the perks are here to stay.

Put it into practice

  • 🧮 Estimate your grind with the strength calculator — time-to-lift for any cube.
  • 🏆 Check the tier list before your next Cash purchase.
  • 🎟️ Keep the codes tracker handy — free rewards land there first.
  • 🧊 Compare gates on the cube ladder before you commit to a zone.
